The 2017 Golden Globe awards was filled with dynamic moments from Black women and men alike. While Tracee Ellis Ross won the Best Actress in a TV series for comedy and delivered a compelling speech, her beauty also stole the show along with several of her fellow actresses. At this year’s award show simplistic beauty reigned supreme, as women such as Janelle Monáe, Angela Bassett, Keri Washington, Issa Rae, Regina King, and Tracee Ellis Ross dawned long, short, ponytail, and pinup hairstyles. Issa Rae’s braided bun up do complimented her mock neck gown. While Tracee Ellis Ross’s slick curly ponytail was an ideal accent to her embellished strapless gown. Indiscriminate of each woman’s hairstyle, what was common was the simplicity therein. The simple hairstyles of the previously mentioned women not only allowed for their natural beauty to shine but it also radiated Black Girl Magic and timeless beauty as they assembled for a night of entertainment honor.
